Mid-High Cross-Over Frequency- Determines the frequency where high damping takes over from mid damping.
The Rule - Think of Altiverb as an echo chamber. You feed your audio to the speaker(s) in the chamber, you put some mics in there, and get back the reverberated audio into the mixing board. The input of Altiverb goes to the speakers, the output of Altiverb is what the mics produce.
Every time the sound in the echo chamber hits any material, the material bounces some of it back, absorbing some other part of the frequency content of the reverb.Three band damping simulates this effect of absorbing (or reflecting) materials such as baffles, curtains, base traps, people and chairs in a room.
